1 Whole Fryer (3-3½ lbs)
1/3 Cup Chopped Onions
1 T Butter
12 oz Jar of Chili Sauce
2/3 Cup Water
1/3 Cup Lemon Juice
3 T Vinegar
3 T Brown Sugar
2 T Worcestershire Sauce
1 t. Salt
¼ t. Paprika
6 Hamburger Buns
*Additional condiments: Onions, sweet bell pepper, lettuce, cheese and pepperoncini.
Place whole fryer in large kettle cover partially with water and heat to boiling. Over pan and simmer until chicken is cooked, about 45-60 minutes. Remove meat from bones. (about 3 cup shredded meat)
Sauté onions in butter until soft and transparent. Add Chili sauce, water, lemon juice, vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, salt and paprika. Simmer the mixture for 10 minutes. Remove from heat.
