Orange and Cream Cookies



1/2 cup Shortening
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 large egg
3 t. grated orange peel
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1 cups (about 1/2 a 12oz. pkg.) White Chocolate Chips


Directions

PREHEAT oven to 350° F.


Beat butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar in large mixer bowl until creamy. Beat in egg and orange peel. Mix all remaining ingredients together in a seprate bowl and gradually add flour mixture to wet mixture. Stir in morsels. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

Makes 3 dozen cookies
